TRAVEL NURSING JOBS
If you're looking for an exciting career opportunity, a travel nursing job is the right choice for you. Travel nursing is a rapidly growing and unique field which allows registered nurses to relocate to hospitals throughout the nation to help fill positions during the constant and growing nursing shortage.
Typical travel nurse assignments are 13-weeks long and pay 10%-15% more than permanent nursing positions, while allowing you to choose your location and setting. From Hawaii to California to Florida, or just about anywhere in between, travel nurses have the opportunity to work in the best hospitals and medical clinics with industry leading pay and benefits.
At Onward Healthcare, we know your travel nursing experience depends a lot on the company you chose to work with. That is why the foundation of our travel nurse business is placing the right professional into the right job--one that not only meet your salary and location preferences, but that meets your career goals as well. As a top rated travel nurse staffing agency, Onward recognizes that you are the most important asset we have and in turn, we make every effort to help you get the travel RN assignment that is tailored to your desires.
Getting Started as a Travel Nurse
Step 1: Complete our Online Application
Our online travel nursing application consists of 4 easy steps and will take you about 10 minutes to complete. This information is needed by our recruiters to present your profile to possible hospital clients.
Step 2: Speak with an Onward Recruiter
After you complete your application, one of our travel nursing recruiters will contact you to determine your travel RN career goals, location preferences, specialties, previous travel nurse experience and availability. Following your initial conversation, your Onward Recruiter will review your application, skills checklist, and check your references so that they may start recommending you to the appropriate facilities based on your requirements. They will provide you with dedicated one-on-one service throughout the hiring process.
Step 3: Interview with the Facility
When your Onward Recruiter has located a position that matches your preferences, he or she will set up an interview with you and a representative from the facility, usually a nurse manager. This is normally conducted by phone and is your chance to find out about the hospital, your duties, and the unit you'll be working on to determine if you think it will be a good fit for you. Your recruiter will help answer any questions you have prior to the interview so that you are fully prepared going in to the call. (By taking part in the phone interview, you are in no way obligated to accept the assignment. You may choose to take part in as many interviews as you wish to determine the travel nursing job that is right for you.)
Step 4: Accept a Travel Nurse Assignment
Once the interview is complete, your recruiter will contact you to let you know if you have been offered the travel nurse job. They will then discuss your pay and benefits and determine if you would like to accept. Assuming you do, your recruiter will begin managing your transition, including gathering documentation and assisting you in housing arrangements, coordination of pre-employment compliance forms and day one instructions.
Step 5: Begin your Travel Nurse Career
Once all of the required paperwork is complete, you are ready to embark on your exciting new travel nursing career. As part of Onward’s industry leading benefits, you will receive travel reimbursement and free private housing on your new assignment. In addition, your Onward Recruiter and service support team will be avaialbe to you throughout the duration of your assignment for any questions or concerns you many have.
Making Travel Nursing a Career
During the course of your assignment, your recruiter will remain in contact with you and also work with you to decide what you would like to do at the end of your 13-weeks. Your options may include extending your assignment at your current location, choosing an alternative facility in the same area, relocating to somewhere new or taking some time off from your travel career. In any case, your recruiter will support you in the process to ensure you have the best experience in the industry when you travel with Onward Healthcare!
